What did you learn at BEREADY Academy?

What did you learn at BEREADY Academy?

What have you done since leaving camp that reflects what you learned at BEREADY Academy?

For example, you helped someone out (take grocery’s out for mom, wash dishes etc.), then you got rewarded (ice cream from mom, TV time etc.)– at BEREADY you learned that you help your team to help yourself!

Tell us what you’ve done!

Listening is a skill, and I am practicing that skill more every day. I continue to think outside the box and look at things in different ways. I am helping my younger siblings more and having a good time.

I learned that whenever you help someone you help yourself. That means that whenever you help someone get better at something or if you help your family around the house you are teaching yourself things that you may not know or you are improving the skills that you already have. I helped a girl on my Cross Country team by staying after practice to teach her proper footwork when running up and down a hill properly so that her time would be better. By helping her improve on her footwork I also improved on mine as well.

when you help someone out you should not always expect something back i helped my mom and dad by doing the dishes but they took me to dicks.

I have learned that no matter what it is about, if you help someone out and don’t expect anything back, you will find yourself very satisfied with the way you treat people. I have helped my grandparents out in their garden, and did it just to help them out, without expecting any return. I actually enjoyed myself while doing it, and my grandma offered to buy me something the next time we were at the store.
