BEREADY Bond Assignment #3

BEREADY Bond Assignment #3

Hello BEREADY Families and campers,

It’s great to be back. Life is all about CHANGE and BEREADY has gone through some big changes over the last several months. Hopefully, you will see some of those great changes at camp this summer!

Your assignment is to give one example of a change that has happened to you over the last several months and how you adapted to it. Just write it here in the blog your big change and how you had to change because of it. I hope another BR student (or me) can learn from your experience.

Keep up with your homework and you can still receive your scholarship for camp. You will have until March 31, 2014 to complete this task.

Good luck,

Coach Ben

As I have grown up these last few months, I have noticed that sports become more aggressive. I was getting angry and taking it personally when I would get pushed and hit. The last several months, I have learned to not take this personally and understand it is part of the game. Sometimes I have even had another kid that was doing this to be physical, this has been the hardest lesson to learn. I have learned that when someone aggressively plays it is ok and to play the game. If someone is aggressive but not towards the game, I have learned to move around and focus on the game. If bad aggression happens, I have learned to give signals, hands up, make noise, or otherways to not play into another players anger but make it so the ref will see what is happening.

My little cousin and my uncle came to live with us for about 3 months. My cousin got into my stuff and broke some of my toys. I was not too happy but I forgave him because he was only 5 years old. I had to adjust to the situation by learning how to live with another kid in the house. I taught him how to respect other people’s things. Even though he broke my toys I am lucky to have a good family.

We went on a trip to the Carribean for 2 weeks during Winter Break at school. When we came back we found a TON of water damage in our house. We had to stay in a hotel for almost two weeks. I adapted to that change by going with the flow and getting used to living in a hotel. It was really hard because we had to bring our 2 pet cats and we were living with about half of our normal possesions.
